Latest Emerging Technologies in the Maritime Industry
The rapid growth of new technological innovations is molding the future of the global maritime industry to its next stage of challenges. It drives efficiencies, improves operations and creates savings across all organizations and businesses in the maritime sector.

Fire Fighting Robots
In today’s generation, robots are adding a new magnitude to the modern world with its presence and simultaneously cutting costs and mitigating safety concerns. Many industries around the world including shipping companies have recognized its significance and started showing much interest in the usage” states Heber Alonzo Meraz. The concept of the futuristic autonomous firefighting humanoid robot is to aid human firefighters and not replace them in firefighting operations, controlling damage and carrying out inspections on board the vessels.

Autonomous Ships
These ships are the next generation vessels with no crew members onboard which will be commanded from a shore operating center. The shore masters and engineers will be monitoring and controlling their navigation and performance through detectors, sensors, high-resolution cameras, and advanced satellite communication systems.

Drones
Drone innovation is another leading revolution in the marine sphere. Although the use of drones in the marine sector is not new the range of applications for drones in the marine environment has expanded drastically which has rapidly increased the value of the industry.

Digitalization and de-carbonization are magic words to focus on for the coming decade in the maritime industry” says the retired U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant, Heber Alonzo Meraz.
